Database Administrator

Our client who is major financial market operator in Hong Kong is looking for a Database Administrator to join their team to maintain the administration and support for the company-wise database infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Administer and support databases on Linux, Windows, and cloud platforms.
• Implement solutions in high-performance environments requiring stability and low latency.
• Assist application teams with database setup and SQL performance reviews.
• Advise on technical architecture and database configurations.
• Manage Oracle, IBM DB2, GaussDB, and PostgreSQL databases, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Ensure compliance with standards and conduct regular system reviews.
• Maintain system availability and ensure optimal database functionality.
• Review SQL queries and application interactions with databases.
• Collaborate with vendors for quality delivery and implementation.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience with Oracle, IBM DB2, GaussDB, or PostgreSQL.
• Proficient in shell scripting and programming; experience with RAC, ASM, DataGuard, and HADR is a plus.
• Strong SQL knowledge and experience with database security, backup, and performance monitoring.
• Skilled in automation and process improvement scripting.
• Familiarity with AWS RDS, MongoDB, or MSSQL is advantageous.
• Understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
